John K Cartoon College: Basic construction study
So I started working true John K's Cartoon College assignments. The Goal was to learn classic cartoonist construction. I studied some sphere and pear constructions and tried to recreate them. I screwed up here and there.. In my next update I'll post some comparison pictures aswell.

I'm not John K., so I wouldn't know what he would think of these drawings, but these look pretty good, especially the Wile E. Coyote and Roadrunner drawings.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenTry to watch your proportions, perspective, and definitely negative space when you're trying to copy these drawings though. Make sure that you're copying these in the steps that Preston Blair shows in his book, without cheating or tracing and that you're understanding why these drawings look the way they do.
I hope this helps a lot. This is from experience from copying tons of old cartoon framegrabs, model sheets, and the drawings in Preston Blair's book. You're off to a great start!
