This nerdy character I created to use in a animated short. Hopefully that plan will come off the ground in the near future. He's a big gamer dork with a huge collection of retrogames. rarely gets out of the house and reviews his game collection as a hobby.

I've been a longtime fan of egoraptor's animated shorts. So when I saw this contest being held on newgrounds, I couldnt resist.

60 minutes, photoshop

beforehand I made some character sketches for this guy. I'll probably post those later.

The idea is that he is the main protagonists enemy , who is a freakish yakuza dude. He has cursed Irezumi tattoo's on his arms. These tattoo leeches suck the life essence out of its opponent as it where. Then the faces of these poor souls appear around his waist as a trophy. He probably also inherits his defeated opponents abbilities.

During one of my doodling sessions I decided to try and make my own version of the Joker.
I tried to mix some of the old Jokers aspects, that I thought where cool, in this. He is similar to BTAS, Mark hammil joker but with Jack Nicholson's receding hairline. But since I really liked the darker Heath Ledger version, I experimented with some deformed 'cleft lip like' mouth area.

John K Cartoon College: Basic construction study

So I started working true John K's Cartoon College assignments. The Goal was to learn classic cartoonist construction. I studied some sphere and pear constructions and tried to recreate them. I screwed up here and there.. In my next update I'll post some comparison pictures aswell.
